Hugh Nagle

Hugh Nagle is Managing Director of Plus Publications. He taught French, Mathematics and Information Technology in the Ursuline Secondary School, Blackrock, Cork, from 1988. In the early 90s, he lived and worked in Japan for two years where he studied Japanese and developed an interest in the Japanese language and culture. Apart from making editorial decisions and preparing content for each issue of Français Plus, he is in charge of all the technical work behind Français Plus, including page layout and design. He now devotes his time exclusively to Plus Publications' work, having resigned from his teaching position in August 2005.

Gilbert Villard

Gilbert Villard has forty years of experience in the banking sector in France. He has directed several banking groups, investing much of his time in the areas of human resource management and the general economic and financial aspects of these operations. He is a member of l'Association pour la Défense de la Langue Française, a group which endeavours to retain the integrity of the French language. Gilbert is married with one daughter, Pascale, whose husband is Irish.

Joachim Krautz

Joachim Krautz is a regular contributor to Plus Publications’ language resource materials. Having studied at the universities of Tübingen, Stuttgart and Massachusetts, Joachim holds a Master's Degree in Literature and Linguistics. He taught for several years in the German and Philosophy Departments of University College, Cork. Before taking his degree and after many years of competitive participation in the German Taekwondo team, he went on to take up the position of coach to the Belgian national Taekwondo team. Joachim is particularly interested in the study of foreign languages and has developed varying degrees of competence in Dutch, French and Korean. He has also travelled extensively in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Mary McLaughlin

Mary McLaughlin has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Computer Diploma from University College, Cork. She has worked as a computer software engineer in Dublin, London and Sydney and as network administrator for a Japanese company in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Her experience in Japan also provided her with expertise in the areas of publishing and general editorial work. Mary handles administrative work at Plus Publications.
